Iowa senior Cyrus Tate wore a brace covering his right hand as he met with reporters Tuesday morning.
“I hurt my hand a little bit in the Indiana game,” he said. “I’ll be all right, just a little swelling. (I’m) trying to get it to go down and be ready for the game on Thursday (against Minnesota).”
Tate scored 22 points on a near-perfect night last Saturday. He hit all six shots and was 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. He also pulled down 11 rebounds.
At practice Tuesday, Tate’s thumb and wrist were taped up but he participated in all drills.
“It’s not broken or anything like that,” Tate said. “Just a little sprain on my hand, but it will all right.”
